Biography

14th century Shia Muslim scholar and jurist from Jezzine, Lebanon. Renowned author of al-Lum'ah al-Dimashqiyah. Earned the designation "First Martyr" as probably the first Shia scholar of great stature to be killed in a brutal manner. Executed in 1385 during Sultan Barquq's reign.
